These are my favorite kinds of projects/posts my friends! Quick DIYs that are easy to replicate and aren't going to break the bank. This one is especially easy!  I found this tulip wreath and fell. in. LOVE with it:  But the price? Seventy dollars?? 😳 It's gorgeous but I knew I could make my own.  I gathered my supplies -- this grapevine wreath I had already. I recommend grabbing one when they're on sale (I believe this one was $5 after half off). I love these because they're SO easy to stuff with seasonal items: Then I went to Hobby Lobby because their fake flowers were half off. I grabbed way more than I needed just in case (they're usually half off every other week so I wanted to make sure I had enough):  So pretty!  I used my wire cutting pliers and started cutting the stems off the bunches:  Then you just stuff them in! Hello all! Goodness I'm ready for Friday this week! The sun is out, the house is fairly clean (although picked up and clean are two very different things) and I'm ready to relax for a couple days. So even though I love to decorate and share ideas with you all, there are certain aspects of it that I still find difficult. (Difficult in the scope of putting pretty things around my house, not difficult in the scope of life. 😉) I've told you before I struggle with decorating bookshelves and the tops of things ...like dressers or consoles. So once I get something the way I like it, I rarely change it up.  I've had a wood bowl with faux apples on our kitchen table for years now but have been keeping my eye out for something new. When I saw this metal and wood basket at the Hob Lob last week, I loved it and stood there holding it in my hands trying to decide how I would use it: Since I purged our home for the last time a last year, I make a point to figure out exactly how I will use a decorative piece before I buy it. As many of you know, it can take me eons to finish up a room makeover. It's usually because of two things -- we pay cash for everything so I only make updates as the budget allows. And since I try to do most of it myself, it just takes longer than it would if I hired out. I don't mind this usually because I think I make better decisions when I take my time.  I'll take even longer if it's a room we don't use often (like our guest room) or one that we use mostly (and guests don't see) so I'm not as concerned about it getting finished up quickly. I've been working on our mudroom for more than three years now -- well, even longer than that if you consider all of our changes -- but I've been making updates for a few years to get it the way I want it.  And it's FINALLY DONE. Whoot! You may have seen the most dramatic changes I shared last fall, but I wasn't calling it done till we got the storage shelf built and finished up. Now it's finished...
