Before and After Party (Just a Little Late!)

Well hello there! So yet AGAIN I forgot about the before and after link up this month. I did the same thing in January -- I seriously have no idea why I keep doing that. I've been hosting this shindig for about five years and I've never forgotten this much!

Soooo…here we go. :) A little late but let's do this thing. I really love looking through all of your posts every month and yet again I was so impressed with what you all create! Sharon's mudroom is one of my favorites:
black interior doors

I loved every bit of it but you know my favorite part was the black door. It is such a big statement for so little money!

Jaime shared a brilliant drawer DIY project -- she used it for water bottles but you could use the same concept for any organizational needs:

I've been planning pull out drawers like this in both our kitchen and master closet -- I know they will make a huge difference!

Jenny shared a HUGE kitchen transformation that she worked on and it is stunning:
Painting kitchen cabinets

She helped me paint my kitchen cabinets last year and her advice was so helpful! She is a pro!

I just had to share Tami's sweet upcycle project -- so cute!:

My son loved his play kitchen as a toddler so this would be great for girls or boys!

I was so thrilled Kelli shared her final kitchen renovation -- we were going through the process at the same time and picked a lot of the same finishes:
Two toned kitchen redo

It is so lovely! I love her red accents. You have to check out the before too!

Laura's dining room makeover is beautiful and she saved a TON by waiting till items were on sale:

I love that beautiful wood table and that wall color is lovely.

And finally, but certainly not least, this tutorial on how to add legs to your island is so helpful:
Adding legs to an island

Nicki's island looks fantastic with those chunky legs -- this is a fairly easy DIY project that really adds a custom touch to your kitchen.

Awesome projects as always! Thanks for linking up every month! If you'd like to be considered for next month's highlight, copy and paste this into your post or add a link:

Now it's time to see what you've been up to for the past month six weeks. :) Please make sure your posts include a before and after shot and are photos of your own work.

My favorite recent projects and posts!

Well hello! Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned! I'm back with another round up of posts from the past few months today. I used to do this monthly but I don't remember to do it most of the time -- so now you get them in batches of two or three months. ;) It's always nice to look back and what I've accomplished around here and it may show you something you've missed! I finished up our loft makeover at the end of the summer -- I shared how I made the giant chalkboard for this space: This is a room that's meant for the whole family so I wanted to make it a fun space. We created a Disney art wall that we'll add to over time. We are going back to Disney World soon and I can't wait to add new memories to this wall!: You can see how we made that Disney pin art in that post as well!  I showed you how I made the large desk with butcher block and how I finished it here :  I also shared my new favorite sanding technique in that post -- it is a SUPER cool tr...

DIY Decorative Wood Box

Hey there all! Hope you have had a great week and have an even better weekend planned! I'm back today to share a popular post from years ago with a little updated info.  This is a perfect example of buying vs. doing it yourself. I LOVE to DIY but there are definitely times I just want to buy an item. Believe me, I say do what you want (Cartman!) -- if it makes you happy to do it yourself, go for it. If you have the money and have no desire to DIY, buy the sucker.  I will say doing it yourself is usually cheaper. This is a good example. I was at Home Depot this week picking up flooring for the basement (more on that soon) and came across this fun new section:  I had to laugh because they are selling pallets now! I actually think this is quite brilliant. None of them are full sized pallets, just half, but still, it's a smart move on their part. It just made me laugh because you can get them for free some places. (Please check with a business before taking pallets though --...

The (surprising) color every room needs!

Hello my friends! I hope you had a great weekend -- we had a lovely one with friends and family. It was a good distraction from the sadness I've felt lately. My sister is moving away tomorrow and I've been dreading this day for months. I don't know how in the world I'm going make it a week without seeing her or my baby niece. I was reminded this weekend that it could be so much worse, and I know this. I'm trying to keep in mind that we'll be able to talk whenever we want -- I will just miss them so much.  If any of you live in the Wheeling area of West Virginia and could hug my sister's neck for me once and awhile, please let me know. :) I'm glad to be writing to you all today because it always makes me feel better!  I've been busy working on our basement fireplace and hope to have an update to share with you this week. I'm so excited about it! I'm thinking about my next steps for down there and I was reminded of my absolute favorite addition...
