Finally, some progress in the loft makeover!

Hey there! I didn't post on Wednesday because I thought this update would be done enough to show you…and it wasn't. ;) So I'm back to share it with you today and it's still not done, but close enough. What was supposed to take a couple days has taken all week, which shouldn't surprise me anymore when it comes to making over a space! I'm really excited about these projects because once they are done the loft makeover will be more than halfway done. I've given myself a deadline to have this room completed before school starts -- which means I have about four weeks left. I didn't think I'd make it but now I'm feeling good about timing. I want this DONE before school and fall and the holidays so I can focus on them completely. :) I got some help this week with a couple things -- both I was planning to do myself but for various reasons I decided to hire out at least part of them. One was the big huge wall in the room. Here's a before photo to show

My top ten absolute favorite Amazon products

Hello my friends! As you can tell, my late owl tendencies start up again in the summer -- our whole family goes back to our natural schedule of staying up late and getting up late. It's so wonderful for the summer but torture when school starts up again. It's the reason for my later posts over the past few weeks -- I'm working on getting these up sooner!  So I heard this weekend that Amazon is doing their "Prime Day" again on July 12 -- have you heard about this? It's supposed to be a day with big deals for Prime members only. We've been members for some time now and it's really changed how we shop. We order SO much more online than we used to and the convenience of it is great. I've found most items are delivered the same day if we order early enough, and if not that day then the next day.  Some items are more than we'd pay in the store but I've found I end up spending less overall because I don't pick up the little random things like

How we handle (and reduce) all of the pet fur!

Hello all! So I get asked to share a lot of products with you but decline 99 percent of them. I only choose to share items I use or think will be helpful and that we actually use and I have to tell you, I was totally intrigued by this product. I've been using it for awhile now and am impressed.  You may know by now that we are animal lovers and always have been. Both my husband and I have had a dog, a cat or both (or multiples of both) our entire lives. And even though they drive me crazy at times I simply cannot imagine our home without our furry loves in it.  Sometimes they feel like no work at all, and sometimes… well, I feel like I have a two-year-old again. Not one, but three. :) Of course our sweet old boy kitty that recently passed was our best animal ever. The dog is pretty easy but the two cats are young and lets just say…active. ;)  Compared to the messes our crazy cat Colby gets into, keeping up with their fur is the easy part. But it's constant upkeep. I get asked a

The July before and after link up (I remembered!)

Well HELLO! How was your holiday weekend? Great I hope! Ours was so much fun and relaxing at the same time. Just the way I like my weekends. I got literally nothing done and as nice as that was I'm anxious to get moving on things this week. But first, I actually remembered the before and and after party this month! Someone give me a sticker! Seriously, I don't know WHAT is wrong with me. Turning 40 makes my mind mush I guess. Two months in a row I forgot. So I'm finally back into it here and I can't wait to see what you've been up to. Of course first I have some awesome projects to share with you by some really talented bloggers from the last time we did this thing . Monica's fireplace makeover is just gorgeous -- I don't think it could get any better: I've been eyeing that stunning tile for a project and this may have solidified it. Kathy had a dark kitchen set and she didn't just paint it like I would do -- she added beautiful and unexpected detai
