New line of Magnolia Homes furniture and decor (for a great price!)

Well hey there! Sorry for the delayed post today -- it was an unexpectedly crazy morning around here and I'm just now sitting down. I'm so excited to show you what I found this weekend though!

I heard a few weeks back that Magnolia Homes was adding an additional furniture line (in addition to their higher end line) at Value City Furniture. I was surprised but thought it was a pretty brilliant move. Fast forward to this past weekend...my girlfriend texted me Saturday evening with photos of some of the items they were putting out and I knew I had to get over there. :)

Of course everything is beautiful. The prices are decent and the quality seems good from what I could tell. What surprised me was the number of accessories they have in the line. I'll show you some of those first. (This is not a sponsored post, I just knew many of you would be as excited as I was to see it!)

I'm sure you're not surprised that there are a TON of galvanized items:

That would be cute on a craft table or for serving ware when entertaining.

These "buckets" were one of my favorites:

I almost got one to use as a planter but didn't know where to put it. I may have to go back for one, they are so cute and unique! These were priced at $60, which I didn't think was too bad considering how big they are.

More metal, this one with the logo:

Those corbels are in their line too. They are labeled as bookends and were $40 for the set.

One thing I'm not sure I love is that most of the items have a little Magnolia tag on them. They are well done and work with the pieces nicely (you barely notice it on some), but a bunch of them have it. It's not a big deal but I don't love having a brand name on decor. I guess Magnolia is a cuter name than most though. ;)

I liked this hanging metal basket paired with the wood:

I ended up getting two of these hanging vases plaques (for $30 each):

They don't work where I was planning to add them so I hope I can find a spot!

OK, now for some of the furniture! I LOVED this table!:

It has drawers! The farmhouse chairs come in a natural tone and black.

This cabinet had some great detail:

The doors slide and I love the hardware on the drawers. So much storage!

I was surprised by the dark green sofa and chairs:

I didn't sit on this one but the fabric was crazy soft.

These little end tables were really cute and were priced at $130:

This daybed was lovely!:

How pretty would that be on a porch? :)

I loved this round table and chairs too:

This living room set was my favorite! The chairs and sofa had metal piping accents underneath (it's hard to see here). And it was actually quite comfortable! The chairs and sofa were nice and deep too:

I didn't get a picture of the matching sofa but it's beautiful and pretty big. The sofa sells for $1100.

There you go -- fun, right? My friend and I joked that this may have saved us a trip to Waco to shop. ;) I was excited by what they had and was impressed with what I could see of the quality. You can see all of their furniture and decor on their website if you want to check out more. Have you checked out any of these yet?

And if you love the shiplap look on Fixer Upper, check out my DIY version that costs a lot less!:

The bathroom renovation has started!

It's been awhile since I've gotten down and dirty with a DIY project and I jumped back in big time with this one! It was SO fun! :)  My whole family thinks I'm nuts by the way. Husband came home from a business trip and son came home from school to this happening...they know by now to expect this.  I've talked about the changes I've wanted to make in our son's bathroom for years now. I mentioned in January that THIS was the year we were going to make it happen. My plan was to add a window in the back room first, and then determine if I wanted to take the wall down: But I knew all along I wanted to take it down...I hate it. Loathe. So yesterday I got a wild hair and did just that. Sometimes I'll sit on a project forever until I just bite the bullet and just jump in. I knew I could make some progress on this room and still have it function, so I went for it.  And man, was it fun! And messy! I loved it. :)  I knew there was some electrical in the wall, but

EASY, inexpensive and beautiful DIY spring wreath!

These are my favorite kinds of projects/posts my friends! Quick DIYs that are easy to replicate and aren't going to break the bank. This one is especially easy!  I found this tulip wreath and fell. in. LOVE with it:  But the price? Seventy dollars?? 😳 It's gorgeous but I knew I could make my own.  I gathered my supplies -- this grapevine wreath I had already. I recommend grabbing one when they're on sale (I believe this one was $5 after half off). I love these because they're SO easy to stuff with seasonal items: Then I went to Hobby Lobby because their fake flowers were half off. I grabbed way more than I needed just in case (they're usually half off every other week so I wanted to make sure I had enough):  So pretty!  I used my wire cutting pliers and started cutting the stems off the bunches:  Then you just stuff them in! It really is so easy. Just place them where you want.  I thought it looked pretty with just a couple bunches on there: But I wanted a fuller

A Mediocre Life?

I read something a few weeks ago that really spoke to me -- it was one of those articles that makes you nod your head and yell "HECK YEAH!" as you read it.  It's called What if All I Want is a Mediocre Life and you can find it here -- it's a fast read and I'll wait while you go take a look. ;)  My only hesitation with the post is the use of the word mediocre. I could not agree more with everything she said, and it describes my outlook on life well. But my life is anything but mediocre. The definition of that word is "of only moderate quality, not very good." My life and what I do with it is anything but.  I have a content life. Replace "mediocre" with "content" and I'm on board.  I am not a woman of extremes, I do not always strive to be the best I can be. I do not tackle each day with intensity. I wake up and realize I get to do what I love -- be with my family, work on my home, visit with friends and write to you all. And I fin
